I work as an administrator and this is basically my second life. On the outside, my job seems simple: I receive clients, answer the phones, keep the studio clean and tidy, and I'm the face of the place. But there's much more to it than that, especially when you're also a piercing master. We have a cosy studio and I pride myself on the comfort and safety we provide for our clients. I especially like it when a person comes in who is deciding to get pierced for the first time. Often they are apprehensive and doubtful, and that's perfectly normal. I try to reassure them as much as possible, because at times like this it's very important that they feel supported and confident. Over the years I have learned to listen to people and find the right approach, even when they are nervous. But most importantly, I have to remember that I am not only an administrator, but also a piercing master. Once the process starts, I move into the role of master. I prepare the work area, check the sterility of the instruments and explain to the client what is going to happen.
